Seven Card Stud: Rules of the game

Basic rules of the Seven Card Stud poker game

There are a lot of poker games that are played, but none of them are as famous as seven card stud. To play this game, you first have to deal two cards face down and one card face up to every one. After this, you have a round of betting based on those three cards. From here, another card is going to be dealt face up, this is called the 4th street card. This is, of course, followed by another round of betting. Then you deal another card face up to everyone (which is called the 5th street card), and this is too followed by a round of betting. Then you deal one more card face up, this is the 6th street card, and you have yet another round of betting.

So pretty much what you have at this point is four cards face up and two cards face down. Having a good memory in this game is the key. It is easier to call someone's bluff in this game, because so many cards are showing. For example, if you are trying to bluff by saying you have four aces, but another guy has an ace showing, then everyone knows that you do not have the other ace. In this game, it is very easy to have your hand mucked up by other players' cards that are showing.

Finally, you have one more card that is dealt, the 7th street card, and it is dealt face down. From this point, you can use any five of your seven cards to win.
